Do you only offer conversion kits or complete Vespas as well?
If you already have a Vespa, we can convert your vehicle and restore it if necessary. If you don’t already have a Vespa, we can supply one for you and you can customize every aspect of it.
How long does the battery last and how long does it take to recharge?
The range varies between 45 and 80 km depending on the driving mode (ECO, DRIVE, SPORT). The battery recharges from 0% to 100% in just 4 hours.
How long does the battery last (recharges)?
The Retrokit’s battery is designed for longevity. Even after around 700 charging cycles, which is equivalent to about 50,000 km, its capacity will still be at 80% of the original. This means it will continue to function perfectly, but with a slight reduction in range.
Where can I charge the battery?
From any power outlet by removing the battery or even directly from the socket under the seat.
Can I increase the range?
Of course, it is possible to install a second battery to increase the vehicle’s range by approximately 60 km.
What is the maximum speed achievable?
The kit is available in versions 50 (max speed 50 km/h) and 125 (max speed 80 km/h).
How long does the warranty last?
The kit comes with a standard 2-year warranty, which can be extended to 4 years at an additional cost.
Can you ship to my country?
Of course, we ship worldwide.
Has Retrokit obtained certifications?
Yes. Retrokit is certified with official tests UN/ECE No. 10R06, EU No. 3/2014, EU No. 134/2014, 2014/35/EU, UN/ECE 60R00, UN/ECE 28R00/06 and UN/ECE No. 85, and is approved in Italy through the NADR code issued by the Ministry of Transport.
How does testing work?
he process is simple and follows the same procedure used for LPG systems in cars:
The kit is installed in a workshop, which issues a signed and stamped installation declaration.
With this document, you can book an Art. 78 test at the Motorisation Authority through a vehicle registration agency.
At the end of the test, the logbook remains unchanged, with only the indication that the Vespa is electrically powered instead of petrol-powered being added.
The original type approval remains the same as the vintage model: the Vespa does not require indicators or other modifications, it retains its 1970s-1980s registration date, it remains exempt from road tax and the insurance (not historic) enjoys a discount of between 40% and 60%.
